Centerville is the closest town and Hickman County seat. Centerville is approximately 60 miles west of Nashville. Centerville is also the hometown of the late famed country comedian, Sarah Cannon, who played Minnie Pearl on the television program "Hee Haw." Centerville has a population of about 4,000.
